Announcing the Book Club!

Comics are for everyone — but sometimes, it’s hard to find a community where you can do dive deep into your favorite characters, stories, and arcs. We’re pretty damn lucky to have the time to read comics, host a podcast, and share our thoughts with each other and the ACC-tion heroes. But if we really want to expand our community, then we need to do more. Not just share more books by marginalized creators, but include more voices in our discussion.

So we’re launching a new feature at ACC: The ACC Book Club!

The third Thursday of every month, we will release a book club episode: where we will do a deep dive on a particular graphic novel that we’ve all agreed to read. We’ll talk about characters, themes, Kirby Ratings™, and seek to answer questions that arise from the text or subtext.

Anyone who listens to the show will be apart of our book club, but we’ve got some patreon benefits to go along with this new feature: They are

• $1 – member: Get the episode at least a day in advance!
• $5 – voting member:  Vote on the book of the month!
• $10 – suggest book: Suggest books to the crew!
• $20 – join our discussion: Grab your mic and share your opinions!

We’re going to launch this in May 16, 2019. Our first book will be Planetary, by Ellis and Cassady. Long time listeners will know that we’ve been waiting to discuss this book for a long, long time.
