Project Superkid!

Hey ACC-tion heroes. A couple of years ago we coordinated our first community project and you raised $500 in order to get comic books in the hands of underprivileged kids. That was December of 2015, and you did a great job. We’ve launched a summer initiative and we want a repeat. Only bigger. Our goal is to raise $2000 in order to get graphic novels in the hands of abused children for Camp Victory.

Camp Victory is a super important resource for sexually abused kids that Sound Engineer Steve volunteers at and has told us about. In Camp Victory’s own words, “Camp Victory is a private, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization providing a healing residential camp for children and teens who are survivors of sexual abuse.

Girls’ Camp has been held since 1990. The first Boys Camp was in 2013. The residential camps provide each camper, or “Liittle Buddy”, with a safe and healing place in which to take part in traditional camp activities and to know that he or she is not alone.

The Buddies are matched individually or in small groups with carefully selected adults, known as “Big Buddies”. Big Buddies support their Buddies throughout camp and ensure their well-being as all join in, playing, dancing, singing, creating crafts and taking part in other camp activities. In addition to Big Buddies, there are many other adult volunteer roles at camp. All Camp Victory adults participate in an intensive training program prior to joining camp.”

In addition? The camp costs nothing to the kids or their parents, the whole effort is done with donations from people who are. Like you. Proceeds that exceed our goal will go directly to the camp. Thank you, and thanks for your generosity.

With Love,
